Cecil's Answer for Week 4

Q: Which of these can be considered deserts? Answer:'The Namib as a true desert, Greenland and Tibet as

psuedo-deserts.'

Cecil also wants to you to wonder...

* What are the characteristics of deserts?  High temperatures and/or low temperatures, low precipitation, and barrenness are the major ingredients.

*There are hot deserts, for example, Sahara, the Namib, and Atacama. There are also cold deserts, which include Patagonia and Gobi. Then there are barren regions like Tibet and Greenland and Antarctica, which functionally can also be considered deserts.  What are your impressions of a desert landscape?
