Overview: Wildlife animals in the Namib Desert

 

Grade Level: Middle School/Junior High

Time Needed: 45 minutes

Objectives:

Materials: Newspapers, maps, artwork ,different plant , postcard, and sand.

Key Words: Desert, names of wild animals in the topic, climatic conditions, names of plants you find in the desert.

 

Activities:

Group One

Looking at magazines and take notes of things that they find in according to the topic.

 

Group Two

Study the sand and plants and take short notes about sand and plants

 

Group Three

Name artifacts find in the postcard and take short notes about them

 

Group Four

Write what they imagine wild animals eat and why do they live in the desert

 

Group Five

Discuss how the people would protect animals and take notes

 

Learners in groups should take notes and share with each other by reading when finished.

 

Assessment Strategies:

Teacher asks questions and later she writes short notes on the writing board as summary.
