An informative workshop to illustrate how to use the Science
Center as a resource in the classroom, using The Greatest
Places as an example.
To development partnerships with teachers in our community.
Inquire Activity Each teacher group will be given an artifact
from one of the greatest places featured in the movie The
Greatest Places . In groups they will have to formulate an
opinion as to what their object is and what it was used for.
Teachers will be shown a slide of an intriguing photograph. Teacher
can only ask yes or no questions. They have to formulate an
hypothesis as to what is "going on" in the photograph.
Overview of Teacher Guide To illustrate how teacher guides can be
use in the classroom. Museum Trunk An introduction to the trunk and
it's contents.
Tour of Collections To allow teachers the opportunity to view the
artifacts available to them for use in their classroom.
OMNIMAX We will view the movie "The Greatest Places".

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (3 hours)
Slides of various geological wonders, artifacts form Madagascar,
Tibet, Namibia and the Amazon.
St. Louis Science Center meeting rooms.

Produce a budget, acquire supplies, reserve the meeting rooms,
mailings to teachers, make appointment with collection manager, make
reservations for the Omnimax.
