Audience: School classes for grades 4 to 12

Implementation : show animatic to whole group

  • discuss possible tie-ins with science programme
  • obtain consensus to develop connections

Timelines: determine year film will come to Centre

  • begin development in April of that year
  • preview components & activities to science staff in June
  • market via school visit guide to all schools in N.Ontario
  • begin workshops in September of film year

Evaluation: use feedback sheets from each workshop to determine
success & modifications


Workshop Ideas: Bio- connect to our ecosystems via water dwellers, trees,
mammals

  • Geo-formation of basins & deltas, fossil records, natural
    resources/mineral exploration
  • Atmo-climate comparisons, hours of sunshine/rainfall
  • Swap Shop-butterflies/insects from Greatest Places,
    facilitate trading with classrooms studying film locations via
    scanning in of objects for trading
  • Prototype-offer hands-on use of the GIS system to students
