Overview
-School Programs for The Greatest Places
project will include school field trips. This Action Plan will provide a filed trip
destination for school groups linking all areas of the curriculm, not just science.
Program Goals
- The Fleet Center will make The Greatest Places
film available to students in grades 4 through 12. Due to the broad over-arching
themes of The Greatest
Places
, it is a goal of this Action Plan to attract students and teachers who are involved
with area of the curriculum, other than science. Students will view the program
in the OMNIMAX( theater during mornings designated for school groups. Students will
view the program and visit the Exhibit Galleries during their field trips. Students will
then gather information about the places in the film, their local place and relate
them to the key concepts to whatever subject they are studying. Because of the shift
in the type fo teacher targeted for this film, the teacher guide may be used more often
to prepare students than in the past. Field trips will provide the large format
visual experience and an serve to wrap-up or introduce the film's global major concepts. This Action Plan is strongly related to the Teacher Programs Action Plan as teachers
who have attended The Greatest Places
workshop will have vested interest in the film and will bring students on field trips
and will prepare their students better for these trips.
