Program Overview: In collaboration with school partner, I will bring artifacts from our collection the represent the greatest places to the classroom. Students will create a "Greatest Places" of Ohio collage. A world map will be placed on the bulletin board with Thumb tacks placed in the locations of the Greatest Places of the film. The students will research their Ohio Greatest Places that have some connection to the film and create a poster to represent the Greatest Place Ohio. We will then place a map of Ohio next to the World map and place thumb tacks on the Ohio map that represent the locations of these great places. We will then take string to connect the great places in Ohio with those that the are related to the world map. We will also send postcards located on the Greatest Places Web site from the museum to the at students at Harrison Elementary and vice versa.

Implementation: After viewing the Greatest Places trunk and film students will use self-created materials, magazines, pictures, and items of their choice to create a 3-D collage or "trunk on the wall" to represent their place. Students will research (through books, reference materials, internet, and Greatest Places web page) their place prior to creating collage. We will focus on location, formation of land forms, ecosystems, economy, effects people have had and resources. After visiting Museum Center and creating their views of the Greatest Places students will follow similar format in creating an Ohio Greatest Places. When finished both will be on display at Cincinnati Museum Center for visiting students to see and provide feedback via email to the students at Harrison Elementary.
