This is a list of activities I will do in connection with Greatest
Places curriculum in the fall of 97.

Objectives:

To develop a mental map of the greatest places. To study cultures of African greatest places. To identify 5 themes of geography, focussing on "place". To compare cultures of Namibia and Tampa, FL. To communicate with students in a foriegn land.

Materials:

Activities:

1) Pen pals with a) Cincinnati,Ohio 4th graders, & b) Oshakasi, Namibia
2) Create a culture trunk to exchange with Namibia school
3) Place identification of GP African places.
4) 5 themes of geography- use GP slides to introduce

Assessment Strategies:

Writing samples to place in portfolio.List steps of how to make a culture trunk..
