Action Plan: Dolores A. Pallan, Aliquippa, Pennsylvania
Minnesota Institute July 18, 1997

With the cooperation of the fifth through seventh grade social studies, English, library, reading, and science teachers of Aliquippa Middle School and in conjunction with activites available at the Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I propose to distribute and encourage the use of The Worlds Greatest Places information. It is my expectation that I will be able to familiarize some faculty members in other local districts about The Greatest Places and through Intermediate Unit 27 establish a for-credit continuing education program based on geography and The Greatest Places. The Pennsylvania Geography Alliance is a primary source of, perhaps, some funding, materials and manpower for presentations about National Geography Education Week. NGEW events will be able to be presented concurrently with The Greatest Places which will segway into the Carnegie Science Center programs and eventually the Omnimax movie. The association that will be formulated with local science centers will provide on going emphasis on the world's The Greatest Places film.
